May the records show that Sunday, April 19th was the day I admitted I was entering my gardening era. I’ve felt it coming for some time, mainly because I have felt a massive amount of guilt over only having lawn in our back garden. I know that we have the potential to build a haven for bugs, bees and butterflies, and yet it has taken YEARS for me to actually get around to giving it a go. I will admit to part of the issue being that because I have shown NO interest before, I feared the reaction from my husband (who has done all the gardening for the whole time we have lived together). Turns out that he is supportive, but did roll his eyes!!
We have been staying with friends who have the most beautiful garden, including fruit and veg and flowers. I admitted that I could feel a hyperfocus coming on and rather than being met with ridicule, I was treated to a trip to their local garden centres (not for me to buy anything!) and some tomato seedlings.
I am dreaming of eating fresh tomatoes and strawberries all summer!
